All Inclusive

Cities are built for people. All people – regardless of gender, sexual orientation, age, race, religion or ability – have the right to lead a free, healthy and decent life in the city that they call home.

Social Cities is a new programme from the International Federation for Housing and Planning (IFHP), designed to improve liveability and social cohesion in our cities. The aim is to develop a new method to measure, design and implement socially sustainable solutions in collaboration with citizens, politicians and corporations.

The beneficiaries are the citizens themselves: the people living in our cities today and in generations to come, whatever their age, sex or social grouping. Cities should be all inclusive.

Social Cities has three main components: an index to translate fragmented data into insights; an ideation lab to co-create solutions; and a knowledge-sharing platform to develop best practices.
